PA REGS + APPROACH
REGS FIRST Many Lancaster-area stream sections are special regulation — DHALO / Fly-Only water is artificial-or-fly-only, some catch-and-release. Check the PA Summary book PER SECTION before the first cast. License + trout permit per angler (D11).
APPROACH Fish UPSTREAM — trout face the current. Drab clothing, low profile, stay off the skyline. One sloppy cast ends a limestone pool; the first drift is the one that counts.
4Special-reg water: swap trebles to singles BEFORE you arrive (F1 carries them).
FISHING IT
1Spinner: cast up-and-across, retrieve just faster than the current, blade always turning. Swing it past undercut banks and cress edges.
2Float: dead-drift the run, mend slack, strike any hesitation.
KEYS
Limestone creeks run 50s year-round — trout feed every month, and so can you. The spinner finds fish; the float-jig catches the ones that refused it. Release wild browns wet-handed and fast; these small streams are the whole show, treat them like it.
